Zachary J. Joachim

Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy / Boston University / Boston Phenomenology Circle

My research focuses on how the post-Kantian tradition, especially the phenomenological tradition, understands the relation between experience and the first-person.

Being philosophical, my research is invested in how this relation manifests in all areas of life and human endeavor, and thus how the arts and humanities, the cognitive and social sciences, and the many lineages of thinking philosophically explore and conceptualize this relation. Of non-European traditions, I have particular competence in the history of East Asian philosophy.
